Goddess Festival – FOI Chicago: A Report by Rt. Rev. Michael A. Starsheen

On Thursday, Oct. 2nd, the Lyceum of Isis of the Stars held consecration and ordination rituals for the members of FOI Chicago. Kiel Milner was consecrated as an archdruid in the Druid Clan of Dana, and founded his Grove of the Crystal Dolmens. Demetria Nanos Jones was consecrated as a hierophant for the Lyceum of Alexandria, and Bea Westrate was ordained as a priestess of Isis.

On Saturday, Oct. 4th, the Lyceum of Alexandria and the Lyceum of Karnak presented the 21st annual Goddess Festival at the Mankind Project Center in Chicago, IL. Vince and Carol Hawkins presented the opening ceremony, followed by a number of talks by various members of the community, some of whom presented for the first time. All did an excellent job. At the end of the day, the Lyceums presented the Awakening of the Golden Phoenix drama from the Melusina liturgy.

Michael Artonn Starsheen created an Egyptian man’s apron embroidered with a figure of Thoth. He wore it in the memorial ceremony at the Isis Symposium at Isis Oasis in August. The facilitators of his embroidery in the city of Mt. Shasta asked him to submit the apron for display in an exhibit on the weekend of August 30 – 31. He was already received an inquiry about commissioning a similar piece for a Temple of Isis priest.

Lyceums

From Sarah Rooke, Prs. H. of Lyceum of Isis and Sekhmet of the Stars, Portsmouth, Hants, UK: I am very pleased to announce that Jaguar Dragonfire from Massillon, Ohio, USA has been initiated into the Fellowship of Isis, College of Isis, and has gained his first magi degree of Sun Magic. Jaguar sent a report of his experience, which contains this passage: “…A white shaft of light shot up and my consciousness rose up into the heavens. It was vaguely similar to a shamanic journey to the upper world. But I never traveled like that before. The place I was at in the upper world was like an infinite space with eternal time. Isis and Ra were there.” Jaguar Dragonfire has also attained ordination and a second magi degree! He has been ordained as a Priest of Frigga and Odin, Freya and Odr, and Jarnsaxa and Thor in the College of Isis, Fellowship of Isis. 

August 10, Glastonbury, author Danu Forest was ordained as priestess into the Fellowship of Isis. Sarah Rooke, Prs. H. of Lyceum of Isis and Sekhmet of the Stars: I am pleased to report that the Rev. Jaguar Dragonfire from Massillon, Ohio, USA has been ordained as a Priest of Frigga and Odin, Freya and Odr, and Jarnsaxa and Thor in the College of Isis, Fellowship of Isis.  This is Jaguar's second magi degree.

His gifts were incense to Frigga and Odin, a piece of agate to Freya and Odr, and a hammer to Jarnsaxa and Thor.

His aims and aspirations in being a priest are:

Continue honouring and maintaining a relationship with the divine Goddesses and Gods, continue studies with the papers of the FOI, continue Magi Studies in FOI, continue Druid studies, Continue letting people know about the FOI.
 

Study the Iseum degrees and found an Iseum in time and continue offering services to the community, such as teachings, readings, healing work and such.

I am very pleased to announce that the Rev. Govinda Dasan of the Iseum of the Ancient Mysteries and the Goddess, Los Angeles, CA, has gained his fifth magi degree of Isis and Osiris in the College of Isis, Fellowship of Isis.

Rev. Nicole Sakarra of Portsmouth, UK  has gained her third magi degree of Moon Magic in the College of Isis, Fellowship of Isis.

Rev. Tracey Hansen of the Iseum of the Throne of Isis in Poole, Dorset, has gained her fourth magi degree of Earth Magic in the College of Isis, Fellowship of Isis.

From Sarah Rooke, Archdruidess of Grove of Cerridwen and the Grael, Portsmouth, Hants, UK: Rev Sarah Williams (Silver Birch, formerly Sarah Heathersdaughter) has been consecrated by attunement as Archdruidess in the Druid Clan of Dana and her new Grove is called Gaia’s Grove, and is based in Swansea, Wales. Here is an excerpt from Sarah’s report: “… as I state my intent as I make my dedication, Goddess says one simple phrase after Oracle, and the beauty and power is in its simplicity, no complicated or long sentences, the two words She says are "you are", loud and clear in my very mind. I am where I am meant to be, have been before, I declare my devotion to Goddess and to Her service and the service of all beings and the Earth Herself.”
